RULES OF THE RANGE

[Archery]

Safety of everyone is of number one importance, ‘errors’ should only occur on the side of safety.

Each archery session a range master must be selected.

On the range, any lawful instruction given by the range master must be adhered to unless unsafe. (I.e. if an order of Bows up is given and you seen a person about to enter the range give the counter order of Bows down’).

On instruction from anyone of Bows down all projectile weapons must be rendered safe by un-nocking the arrow and placing the bow on the ground. all handed power weapons must be place on the ground or held in a safe position.

On instruction from anyone of Weapons downall throwing or hand-missile weapons must be placed on the ground or held in a safe poition.

On instruction from range master only of ‘Bows up’ may projectile weapons be prepared for use on the range.

Only on instruction of ‘Loose arrows’ may arrows be loosed. (The word ‘fire’ came into usage with the advancement of firearms).

No one will be in front of the projectile firing line when at the range unless Bows Down order has been given and the range master has given the order ‘Reclaim arrows’ allowing people to move forward and retrieve their missiles.
